Transcript "Voyage to ATL" Interview with Yayi Osuntoyin:

Today we'd like to introduce you to Yayi Osuntoyin Durrah.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick thingsoff, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

My name is Osuntoyin, I am the CEO of Hood Ritualz & Beauty LLC. I am a Priestess, Rootworker, Diviner, Healer, Licensed Esthetician, Nail Tech and more. 

I perform several services, as well as handcraft my own products independently, sanitarily, and effectively in small batches.

Sounds fun, huh? Well, let me tell you how I got here. Yes, it's dramatic, sad but also beautiful! I grew up with many hardships- starting at birth. My birth was a complicated one, in which apparently I almost did not "make it". The Doctor tore a ligament in my arm, severing the nerves as well trying to hurriedly remove me from my mother's womb. I said that to say, that was the start of my spiritual journey. I have been a seer since I was a child, and in lifetimes before. I would dream things and it would happen, say things and it would happen, as a youth.

In highschool I started astro-traveling without knowing what I was doing. However, these gifts were activated in this lifetime by trauma. I was molested as a child by family members, and experienced rape later on. I experienced physical and verbal abuse at home, and was always the one left out in elementary school because of nerve damage at birth, and because I was different in spirit (which I now appreciate). So, I would read... 

I read a lot about things far away like planets, under the sea, folklores etc to escape what I was experiencing. I enjoyed writing, crafting, hobbies, and creating. I adored esthetics. So in a way, beauty and spirituality always blended for me as a means of help and something good that didn't come from evil humans.

However after more trauma piled, even right before the passing of my mother as a teen I tried suicide. When it didn't work at age 14, I started escaping around age 16 through drugs, older and abusive men, a wild lifestyle. Even then, I loved beauty I just didn't feel beautiful. I wanted others to feel beautiful though. Plus, I always would hear spiritual advice from outsiders, strangers who were mounted with spirit to bring messages-I just didn't know how to follow. I listened and remembered though, like seeds beings planted I would later revisit. 

I was personally angry, but was still good at heart. On another note-I never liked church lol! So, it took a while growing up being told I was Christian/Baptist for me to understand I was metaphysical and much more than a church goer.

I had my first child at 18 and understood what it meant to love someone more than yourself, which was easy but because I didn't love myself- so needless to say I wasn't at my fullest to love- but loved my daughter more than life itself. Anyhow, I still always had a desire to learn and to want to succeed-strangely enough. I had strangers to approach me a lot with messages no one else knew.

 The universe and divine spirits were always with me as I think back on many situations. Later, fast forwarding to my 20's and until now I started to embrace my Spiritual journey and realized that I should also work in the beauty field and as an artist. That was a journey as well.

 As far as beauty, I have gone to school, received my license and continue my education. As a Priestess I have undergone several ceremonies and initiations. I have earned my position, and moving forward. I found from my pain I was a healer, I held much medicine.

 Also I found I was a warrior and accept my positions and duties. This too, came with struggles, strife and sacrifice.

A spiritual journey is life long, we are Spiritual beings in a physical plane. I will share more in a book perhaps lol! For now, I am living my destiny and enjoying my children and loving husband I was blessed with. Oh, and working on my works.

I'm sure you wouldn't say it's been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?

It has most certainly not been a smooth path, it has been hard and trying but it has built character, realness and truth. I developed a higher sense of integrity because of the will to continue on my path.

We've been impressed with Hood Ritualz & Beauty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

You should know that I am an authentic being who has overcome trials and now shares that medicine with those I feel deserve my energy and likewise. I specialize in getting to the root causes of issues in the Individual's lives, delivering messages from their ancestors, cleansings, protections and more. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. It's my compassion and knowledge.

 Though I cannot offer products, time and services for free, I do not try to take on everyone; therefore, money is not my sole motivation. I am proud of my brand because it's a unique blend of my vision. I finally bought to the forefront. 

I offer beauty services such as nail Enhancements, skincare consultations, Herbal Handcrafted Products, lash application, make-up, waxing and more.

In spiritual services, I offer readings, Divination, cleansings, custom rootwork, therapeutic jewelry, consecrated Jewelry, compatibility readings, fixed candles oils and more.

What has been the most important lesson you've learned along your journey?

I have learned many lessons. One of the mostimportant is to believe in myself and without waiting for validation. To keep my life clear of those who do not uplift me, and likewise.
